The Pendleton School of Theatre

The Pendleton School of Theatre has an undisputed reputation for outstanding teaching and training and ensuring that all students are given the support and encouragement they need to pursue their dreams. Support will be offered to enable all of our students to make a confident and informed decision about the next stage of their career – whether it is a place at a drama school, university or full-time employment.

On top of this, our enrichment programme is extensive. Students come to Pendleton because they know we will give them the best chance to progress to drama schools, dance academies, technical theatre courses and top-performing arts universities across the UK, USA and Europe. Our Courses:

Lucy Huntbach

Head of Department, School of Performing Arts

Lucy trained at MMU and worked as a freelance performer including projects at the Riverside Studios in London for the National Review of Live Art and the Green Room, Manchester. She completed a Masters in Theatre and Film in 1995 and has over 25 years teaching experience.

Gideon Clear

Teacher of Acting

Gideon trained at Greenwich University and Mountview Theatre School, obtaining a first class degree. A professional actor with Zygo Arts, BBC, British Film Services, Really Useful Theatres and BBC Radio. Gideon also worked casting and directing for T.I.E. and Corporate theatre for Channel 4.

Nicola Glover

Teacher of Dance

Nicola trained in Musical Theatre at Bird college in London before  working as a professional dancer  in many pantomimes, on board cruise ships, in hotels and in touring tribute shows. Nicola completed her final performing contract in 2018 and embarked on her teaching career. 

Nathan Jarvis

Teacher of Singing 

Nathan has worked as a Musical Director on shows all over the country including West End and UK Tours. He is a Vocal Repertoire specialist and Audition Pianist, having performed all over the world, including Europe and China. His arrangements are used world wide on cruises and shows.

Kevin Matthews

Teacher of Musical Theatre

Kevin trained at the Royal Norther College of Music and Bretton Hall before completing his PGCE in Music and Drama. Kevin is passionate about music and sang professionally at the Royal Opera Covent Garden, Welsh National Opera, Opera North and Glyndebourne Festival (Touring Opera).

Les Williams

Teacher of Musical Theatre

After graduating from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Les performed professionally as an actor in theatre. Les has two PGCE teaching qualifications for Secondary, Further and Higher Education as well as a Masters Degree in Making Performance from Edge Hill University.

Elena Yenulevich

Teacher of Dance

Elena professionally trained at Bird College,  gaining a first class BA(Hons) degree and specialising in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Commercial and Contemporary Dance. Elena is trained in RAD, ISTD and BTDA syllabus work and is an award-winning choreographer.
